Kamil Kanji is your next VP academic and university affairs (VP AUA).
Kanji ran on a platform centred around advocacy for student affordability and equity. He currently works as the strategy and governance lead in the AMS president’s office.
When results were announced Kanji said he felt “over the fucking moon.”
Kanji said the first thing he wants to do is “eat a giant-ass tomahawk steak.”
This year, the VP AUA race was uncontested. Kanji will be replacing interim VP AUA Anisha Sandhu.
Kanji’s term begins on May 1. He was also reelected to the UBC Vancouver Senate as a student-senator-at-large.
