Tong, a third-year newcomer to the AMS, ran on a platform of advocating around affordability and accessibility issues. During the campaign, Tong was criticized for a perceived lack of knowledge on certain issues relevant to the role.
The Ubyssey has reached out to Tong for comment but has not yet heard back.
Her term starts on May 1.
