According to VP Finance Alim Lakhiyalov, the AMS may consider the possibility of dropping food prices for their Nest businesses sometime in the next fiscal year. During November 22 AMS Council meeting, Lakhiyalov presented that Nest businesses have been doing better than expected for the second quarter (Q2) of the current fiscal year.

Fourth-year arts student Marium Hamid is running to be re-elected this year in hopes to carry on her current work at the UBC Vancouver Senate. Her platform consists of implementing policies that prioritize inclusivity in course curricula, increasing the affordability of course material and improving the execution Policy 131.

Fourth-year science student Hannah Xiao, who ran for Senate back in 2015, is now running again to become a student senator-at-large for the upcoming school year.

The new policy — which will be effective starting from the 2018 winter session — states that direct-entry undergraduate admission requirements will begin accepting any Canadian Indigenous languages taught at a Grade Twelve or post-secondary level, even if the language is not listed on the UBC Calendar’s website.
