Henry has been writing for The Ubyssey since 2017 and was elected Web News Editor on the 2019/2020 editorial. A fourth-year philosophy major, he'll report on just about anything, but dreams of peeling back the layers of inscrutable bureaucracies everywhere.

The Life Building — previously the Old SUB — is back in business as of January 3. But it is only partly operational, as this reopening was just the first of many in a series of major move-in dates that will follow throughout the semester.

Max Holmes, current student senator and AMS VP Academic and University Affairs (VPAUA), is running for re-election in the Vancouver Senate. If elected as a senator, Holmes plans to continue his focus on survivor-centric sexual assault policy and reforming academic concession, complementing two major tenets of his VPAUA platform.

First-year bachelor of international economics student Matthias Leuprecht is running to be one of five student senators-at-large in the UBC Vancouver Senate. His platform places environmental sustainability and Canadian Indigenous reconciliation at the forefront.

Jeanie Malone, a master’s student in biomedical engineering, is running for re-election to UBC Senate. Malone is running on a four-pronged platform of “governance, equity, accessibility, and communication.”
