Your guide to Vancouver's 2016 Pride Week events

Sunday, July 31 marks the 38th Vancouver Pride Parade. But before then, there are multiple Pride events happening around the city to check out.

Sunday, July 24 at 9 a.m. — Pride Run/Walk and Picnic at Sunset Beach

A 5.5 km run/walk will kickstart your Sunday morning along the scenic route of Sunset Beach. Bonus: It’s supposed to be 24 degrees and sunny!

Tuesday, July 26 at 8 p.m. — #ThisIsPrideXO

Hosted by Celebrities Nightclub, party all night long with their extra special Celebrity Tuesdays.

Wednesday, July 27 at 8 p.m. — Pride Bingo for Life

Hosted by Carlotta Gurl and Mina Mercury at Celebrities Nightclub, Bingo promises to include fun prizes, drinks and hilarious emceeing. Pay $10 to play and all the proceeds will be going to Vancouver Friends for Life Society.

Wednesday, July 27 at 10:30 p.m. — Pride Cabaret

Stick around after Bingo to catch the Pride Cabaret: Celebrity Impersonations Drag Show. With a cast of Vancouver’s best impersonators, this show is sure to be filled with lots of laughs. 

Thursday, July 28 at 2 p.m. — Aging With Pride

At the Coast Plaza Hotel, this event celebrates LGTBQ+ seniors with complimentary food, refreshments and entertainment.

Thursday, July 28 at 9 p.m. — Underwear Fashion Show

Return to Celebrities Nightclub one last time to watch CruiseyT, DJ Pornstar and other “sexy men” parade around in their underwear. You can also buy Pride swag at the pop-up shop to wear for the rest of the week!  

Friday, July 29 at 6 p.m. — Davie Street Party

A free event filled with music, beer and sun? The Davie Street Party sounds like the perfect way to begin the long weekend. The party will be located between Burrard and Jervis streets.  

Saturday, July 30 at 8 a.m. — Terry Wallace Memorial Breakfast

This is a by-donation breakfast hosted in honour of Terry Wallace, one of the founding members of Pride Vancouver. Soak up last night’s drinks with some pancakes down in Jim Deva Plaza.

Sunday, July 31 at 10 a.m. — Brunch at the Boathouse

For the second day in a row, enjoy some tasty treats at the Boathouse on Kits Beach. Tickets are $45, but you will get a front row seat to Vancouver’s Pride Parade.

Sunday, July 31 at 11 a.m. — Pride Festival at Sunset Beach

Return to the scenic beauty of Sunset Beach and check out local artisans and various community businesses as they put on the Pride Festival. There will also be live music and speakers at the event to enjoy. 

Sunday, July 3t at 12 p.m. — Vancouver’s 38th Annual Pride Parade

The biggest event of all! Participate or watch Vancouver’s Pride Parade, one of the largest LGTBQ+ events in the world.  

Sunday, July 31 at 6 p.m. — Untoxicated

Untoxicated is a Pride event featuring a no drugs or alcohol environment. From 6-11 p.m. enjoy music by headliner Courtney Act, multiple performances by Morgan McMichaels and Guest DJ Karsten Sollars.


Vancouver Pride hosts all of these events. While enjoying yourself, they uphold a zero-tolerance policy for hate crimes and ask everyone enjoy themselves and be respectful of all participants.
