Already delivering on one of our wish list items for Santa, President Ono has launched a four-part poll on twitter. He united the University of Cincinnati under the hashtag #HottestCollegeInAmerica and it's obvious that UBC needs a cool new hashtag too! All the contenders are solid entries as the voting has been relatively close between each round.
In the first poll, #CoolestCollegeinCanada took the cake. Even though we aren't a college, that alliteration was too good to resist. #UBCThunderbirdNation also proved popular and variations of that entry have been successful in subsequent polls.

In a surprising turn of events, UBC voted for our Latin motto #UBCTuumEst, meaning “it is yours.” Given that Vancouver Pride week is coming up in a few days, it's appropriate that #UBCPride was the runner-up.

With so many quality suggestion tweeted at Ono, another poll was necessary — points to him for making the UBC community feel heard. The race between #UBCNation and #UBCInspire was neck-in-neck. No wonder, both are so short and snappy. Poor #UBCEducation&Research, we hardly knew you.
