The Ubyssey's Spooky Halloween Playlist

With Halloween right around the corner, The Ubyssey has curated a special Halloween Spotify playlist.

With COVID-19 restrictions and all, we know you can’t blast these spooky hits at parties, but there’s nothing wrong with getting into the spooky mood alone or with a couple of close friends and family members.

Here are a couple of our favourites on the playlist.

Michael Jackson, “Thriller”

Yes, it’s a cliche, but there’s no denying that Halloween isn’t Halloween without Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Everything about this song is iconic: the melody, the choreography, the music video!

Rockwell, “Somebody’s Watching Me”

['auto']
['auto']

Rockwell’s debut single from 1984 is the perfect song to listen to if you want to feel paranoid. It captures the chilling feeling of us questioning whether we are alone or not. As a warning, after listening, you may be put off by the most usual of things and slightest of sounds.

Creedence Clearwater Revival, “Bad Moon Rising”

['auto']
['auto']

With the apocalyptic state of the world, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Rising” seems too fitting to our lives to be a coincidence. Whether they’re time travellers or it’s just a ‘coincidence,’ this song is probably the quintessential song of the 2020 Halloween season. Lines such as “Don’t go around tonight/Well it’s bound to take your life” are great reminders that quarantine is the best way to spend this Halloween.

Stay safe and happy Halloween!
