Sauder marketing course asks students to explain their biggest heartbreak. In detail.

Profs need relationship advice too, sometimes.

“Please recall the end of your most recent romantic/dating relationship.”

That’s what students in COMM 296, an intro to marketing class, were asked to write in a survey for a bonus mark. I guess you really can capitalize on anything.

A student in the class posted a photo of the survey in Subtle Asian Dating, a Facebook meme group with over 660,000 members. Posted Thursday afternoon, the photo had more than 1,200 reacts by the time this article was published.

“In your description, please give as much detail as possible, so that someone who has never experienced a break-up in their lives can understand what it is like to have a romantic relationship that ended.”

The poster said they filled it out. “Anything for the 4.0,” they said in the post.

Other questions the prof could consider for future surveys: When was the last time you felt the touch of a loved one? What was your steamiest romantic encounter? Does true love exist?

We hope this prof gets the advice they need.
