I quickly realized however that a campus did not entail an atmosphere. Fortunately though, I lived in a first-year residence, meaning I was surrounded by others who were keen to mingle and blow off steam caused by the stresses of student life.

That may be because UBC is like twice the size of Cardiff and can only reach a certain number of people, but in my three years at UBC, I’ve never really heard about any significant events coming out of our Pride group.

I want to address to concerns about the move to 3,000 people. I want to start by highlighting that I don't understand the arbitrary nature of this argument. Why is 3,000 not a good cut-off, but 1,500 is?
