Sydney Le is field hockey's newest star

On the field, Basra is a force. This season, she was awarded both the Canada West and U Sports Field Hockey Player of the Year award, despite UBC’s team not making it far into the postseason.
UBC’s women’s field hockey team split their weekend series at home against the University of Victoria Vikes, winning Saturday’s game 2–1 and losing Sunday’s game 3–1.
The T-Birds spent the weekend at Kenyon Court at Mount Royal University, looking to advance to the quarter finals for the Canada West championships, hosted by the University of Alberta. The ‘Birds faced off against the University of Calgary Dinos and Mount Royal University Cougars.
