Liberal Wade Grant wins Vancouver Quadra MP race

Wade Grant has been elected as the Member of Parliament for Vancouver Quadra in the 2025 Canadian federal election as a member of the Liberal Party.

Vancouver Quadra — which includes all of UBC and the University Endowment Lands — has been held by incumbent Joyce Murray since 2008. After Murray announced she would not be seeking re-election, Grant was nominated as the successor grit candidate.

“Throughout this campaign, I was deeply moved by the conversations I had with so many of you about our hopes for the future,” Grant wrote in a statement to The Ubyssey on election night.

A former Musqueam Indian Band councillor, Grant will represent the riding in the House of Commons as part of the 45th Parliament of Canada.

At the time of publication, CBC projects the Liberals to form a minority government.
