Lauren started writing for The Ubyssey in 2021, after finding the only space you could join without having to talk to someone. Now, she frequently talks to people for stories about pretty much anything and everything. She then became the newspaper's sports + rec editor from 2023–25. Go figure. Since 2020, Gropper has improved meteorically, achieving a self-professed top speed of 100 km/hr. Last year, she finished third in Canada for women’s downhill racing, qualifying them for Team Canada.
