Emma Livingstone is a fourth-year international relations and history student. She started writing for The Ubyssey in 2017 in the blog section and expanded into news the following year. She was the 2019/2020 Print News Editor and is interested in reporting on local politics, labour and public health.

In 2013, The Ubyssey filed a freedom of information (FOI) request to see the broad-based admissions rubric used by the university, an institution run by the provincial government. This became the start of a four-year legal battle between the university and the student paper.

The strike notice comes after 40 days of collective bargaining failed to reach an agreement between BCRTC and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 7000, the union that represents approximately 900 SkyTrain workers in Metro Vancouver.
