Last April, one of the goaltenders for the UBC women's hockey team passed away abruptly, only a few days away from her 34th birthday. Over the next few hours, it became apparent that she had been yet another casualty to mental illness.

The Ubyssey received seven nominations for the John H. McDonald awards. We won three, thanks to the hard work of our web developer Peter Siemens, our photo editor from last year Kosta Prodanovic and all-star staff illustrator Jerry Yin.
