Last Friday, tens gathered in a sports arena somewhere on campus to watch the Lightningfowl win or lose or something. The excitement in the air was existing. The refs whistled their whistles and the game began.

“Turn It Up and Disrupt” was held from March 9 to 11 and was organized by nine campus sponsors including the UBC Arts and Culture District and the faculty of arts.
Morgan, Bourcier and Shephard were drafted by the Fraser Valley Bandits, while Posthumus heads to the Saskatchewan Rattlers.
Over the course of its history, UBC has had various pep bands, but the Thunderbird Marching Band didn’t start until 2012. The club was founded to create something similar to the American university experience.
The band members have played together in many different capacities, from community bands to high school jam sessions.
Whatever they decide to bring to the stage on Saturday, the crowd can expect a mixed bag of songs and a first-class show.
