UBC is cancelling all in-person learning activities for February 3 due to heavy snowfall in Metro Vancouver.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has said an additional 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected to accumulate overnight.
According to a UBC weather advisory, students should look for communication from instructors about whether alternative arrangements like moving classes online will be made.
The announcement also notes employees who perform necessary work are expected to come in and all other staff should look to their managers for direction. Faculty and staff can also consult UBC’s Winter Weather Conditions Protocol.
A TransLink advisory wrote snowy conditions could also affect bus and SkyTrain services and to accommodate for potential delays.
UBC wrote further updates will be released on February 3 at 6 p.m.
