In special election, AMS omnibus bylaw referendum fails for the third time

The referendum failed in the 2019 AMS general elections and again in the 2020 general elections, making this the third time the AMS has tried and failed to pass the referendum that would abolish student court, extend AMS membership to carry over to the second semester and would allow the AMS to create a confidentiality policy to limit the release of certain records.

Lucia Liang re-elected AMS VP finance

As an incumbent running in an unopposed race, Liang emphasized automation and digitization to modernize the AMS’s “outdated” financial systems, particularly the reimbursement system for clubs.

Malone, Holmes win Board of Governors race

This will be Malone and Holmes’s fourth and second year on the Board respectively. In their platforms and debates, they displayed institutional knowledge that comes from having worked inside UBC for several years.
