The Ubyssey is hiring podcast hosts

The Ubyssey is planning to launch several podcasts during the 2025/26 academic year, so we are looking for hosts interested in writing and recording their own shows.

Podcasts can fall under any discipline, like arts, sports, politics or science — an ideal host has background knowledge in the focus of their podcast and connections that could help connect with guest speakers, if they plan to invite people onto the show.

We are interested in running both limited series and more regular bi-weekly shows and welcome diverse podcast types. It could be interview-style (like Q or CANADALAND), conversational (like Sidenote) or something else entirely. It's up to the host to make the show interesting, so use this application to show us that you are an engaging storyteller who is worth listening to.

Prior experience with podcasts or radio is not required, but you will need to explain why you are a qualified candidate for the position. If your application is successful, you will be expected to write scripts and assist with some technical aspects of the production process, like video editing or article writing.

Please see this form to complete an application, and please send questions about podcasts or the application to Features Editor Elena Massing at features[@]ubyssey.ca.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until they close on May 18, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Spread the word!
