This season was nothing short of impressive, and with a first-round bye, the UBC men's hockey team will now set their sights on returning to the conference finals, and reaching their ultimate goal of playing for the University Cup.
With a smile, Butenschön remarked that his team will take 24 hours to celebrate the victory, before turning their full attention to the Canada West finals. UBC will head to Edmonton to take on the University of Alberta Golden Bears in two weeks time, with the winner taking home a championship banner.
For Toth, the opportunity has been the cherry on top of an astonishing final season with UBC. He currently leads the Canada West in nearly every goaltending statistic, posting a .930 save percentage and a 1.99 GAA with a record of 10–3–1.

After a close series opening game, the UBC women’s hockey team dominated the University of Alberta Pandas on Saturday and completed the weekend sweep, improving to 6-2 on the season.
UBC’s roster has had plenty of turnover since they last suited up to play games. With 16 first-year players, the team is the youngest it has been in decades.
