Former UBC academic and governor of Kandahar Tooryalai Wesa survived an assasination attempt in Afghanistan last week, reported CTV.

Wesa was in a convoy passing through the centre of Kandahar when it was targeted by a remote-controlled roadside bomb.Wesa was not injured, but his vehicle was damaged.
